Everything you need to install, configure, and activate your GoldenEA Expert Advisor.

MT5 Installation

Follow these steps to install your Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 5.

    Download your EA file (.ex5)

    You'll receive the EA file after purchasing via Telegram.

    Open MT5 → File → Open Data Folder

    This opens the MT5 data directory on your computer.

    Navigate to MQL5 → Experts folder

    This is where all Expert Advisors are stored.

    Copy the EA file into the Experts folder

    Paste the .ex5 file you downloaded.

    Restart MT5 or right-click Navigator → Refresh

    The EA should now appear under Expert Advisors in the Navigator panel.

    Drag the EA onto your chart (e.g., XAUUSD H1)

    Make sure you're using the correct symbol and timeframe for your EA.

    Configure settings and enter your license key

    Enter your license key in the "License_Key" input field.

    Click OK to activate the EA

    The EA will validate your license and start trading.

Enable WebRequest

Required for license validation. Without this, you'll see Error 4014.

Important: The EA requires WebRequest to validate your license with our server. If WebRequest is not enabled, you'll see Error 4014: WebRequest not allowed.

    In MT5, go to Tools → Options

    Click the "Expert Advisors" tab

    Check "Allow WebRequest for listed URL"

    Click "Add" and enter: https://goldenea.com/mt5_license/api_validate.php

    Click OK to save

    Restart the EA for changes to take effect

    Remove the EA from the chart and re-attach it.

License Activation

How to activate your license and manage your MT5 accounts.

Enter License Key

When you attach the EA to a chart, enter your license key in the "License_Key" input field. The key will be validated automatically.

One Account Per License

Each license is tied to one MT5 account. The first account you use will be registered automatically.

Switch Accounts

Need to switch MT5 accounts? Use the License Portal to delete your old activation, then activate on the new account.

Monthly Renewal

Licenses are monthly. Contact us on Telegram before expiry to renew and avoid trading interruption.

Common Errors & Solutions

Troubleshooting guide for common issues.

Cause: WebRequest is not enabled or the URL is not whitelisted.

Solution:

  1. Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors
  2. Check "Allow WebRequest for listed URL"
  3. Add: https://goldenea.com/mt5_license/api_validate.php
  4. Click OK and restart the EA

Cause: The license key is incorrect, expired, or already used on another account.

Solution:

  • Double-check your license key for typos
  • Check the License Portal to verify expiry date
  • If using on a different account, delete the old activation first
  • Contact support on Telegram if the issue persists

Cause: EA file not in correct folder or MT5 needs refresh.

Solution:

  • Verify the .ex5 file is in MQL5/Experts folder
  • Right-click on "Expert Advisors" in Navigator and click "Refresh"
  • If still not showing, restart MT5 completely

Possible causes:

  • Auto Trading disabled: Click the "Algo Trading" button in MT5 toolbar (should be green)
  • Wrong symbol: Make sure you're using the correct symbol (e.g., XAUUSD, not XAUUSDm)
  • Session filter: Some EAs only trade during specific sessions (London/NY)
  • Market closed: Forex markets are closed on weekends
